XI International Workshop on Cutting,
Packing and Related Topics
Guimarães, Portugal, July 29 - 31, 2015
Workshop Aims and Objectives
A WIDE SCOPE MEETING, DEDICATED TO PhD STUDENTS
The main goal of the IWCPRT meetings is to allow PhD students to present their work, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, benefiting from the inputs of the other senior participants in the meeting. The presentations are intended to be long, at least when compared with conference presentations standards, and to allow for enough time for discussion around the theme. Works at any stage of development are welcome, from simple state of the art presentations or research ideas for the PhD, to ongoing work or even final results from thesis already finished. This is surely a good training opportunity for PhD students that are exposed to different problems and resolution methodologies. Tutorials on general resolution methods or specific problems can be given by the senior participants, to enrich this training side of the workshop. Any PhD theme in what is generally accepted as Operations Research and Management Science, including Operations Management and, of course, Cutting and Packing problems, is welcomed.
