A3ES Acreditation
On October 30 of 2014, the Assessment and Accreditation Agency of Higher Education (A3ES) decided to unconditionally accredit MEI, for a period of 6 years, in accordance with the recommendation and justification formed by the corresponding External Assessment Team. Brief description
Industrial Engineering aims at applying engineering methods and principles from the management sciences to project, organisation and management of production systems on goods and services companies. The Industrial Engineer develops its activity aiming at the rationalisation of the company’s resource use (people, machinery, transportation systems, computing resources, financial resources, tools, space, etc.) in order to improve its overall performance.
 
The purpose of the Master's in Industrial Engineering is to train professionals with advanced technical and scientific skills in the field of Industrial Engineering, focused on especially attractive and/ or emergent fields, and which are essential to the design, shaping, analysis and management of the today’s complex systems of present days.

The program is divided in four Areas of Expertise:

• Project and Innovation Management and Evaluation.
• Quality, Safety and Maintenance.
• Industrial Management.
• Logistics and Distribution. 

By simultaneously assuring a thorough, versatile and comprehensive education the program provides the necessary competences and skills for a world in which flexibility, adaptability and power of initiative are crucial. The career prospects cover virtually all production sectors, with a particular emphasis on industry and services, and encompass a broad range of functions, including entrepreneurship. Other career prospects include institutional functions, both in the non-profit public and private sector, as well as in scientific research.
