RETIREMENT CEREMONY
The retirement ceremony for Maria Madalena Teixeira Araújo, Professor in the Department of Production and Systems at the School of Engineering, took place on 3 December 2024 at the Azurém campus of the University of Minho.
The programme began at 5 p.m. with the reception of guests and audience, and the opening featured speeches by Rui Vieira de Castro, Rector of the University of Minho, Pedro Arezes, President of the School of Engineering, Adelina Paula Pinto, Vice-President and Councillor for Education of the Guimaraes City Council, and Paulo Sampaio, Director of the Department of Production and Systems.
At the moment of praise for the retiree, speeches were given by M. Sameiro Carvalho and António Paisana, Professors of the Department of Production and Systems, School of Engineering, University of Minho.
The last lecture, at the retirement ceremony, given by Professor M. Madalena T. Araújo, was entitled ‘The Challenges of Decision Making – From loose ends to lessons learned’.
The ceremony concluded with a reception during which all those present were able to personally congratulate the retiree.
