PAULO SAMPAIO JOINS THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE FOR GUIMARÃES EUROPEAN GREEN CAPITAL 2026
At the invitation of the Co-Chairs of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Carlos Ribeiro and Dr. Isabel Loureiro, the Director of the Department of Production and Systems at the School of Engineering, Professor Paulo Sampaio, was invited to join the Scientific Committee for Guimarães European Green Capital 2026.
The city of Guimarães was recently elected European Green Capital 2026, recognising its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and its exceptional performance in the areas of environmental indicators defined by the European Commission.
In accordance with the European Green Capital 2026 Strategic Plan, the creation of the Scientific Committee, an essential pillar for achieving strategic objectives, was unanimously approved. This body plays a decisive role in sharing and disseminating knowledge and strengthening research and innovation.
