VEM – Let’s Try UMinho is an initiative that welcomes 11th and 12th grade students from educational establishments in northern Portugal who stood out in the previous year for their academic performance.

The programme runs over 3 days, in sessions that focus on direct contact with the academic context, providing participating students with the opportunity to work side by side with professionals from UMinho. Students are divided into different scientific areas, according to the activities they have selected and their future choices, and are integrated into research teams and specific sessions in the various areas of knowledge available at UMinho.

This initiative is a special programme that values and instils enthusiasm for the connection to the academic community, for the areas of study covered by the educational offer and for scientific research, clarifying the close relationship between these two fundamental components of knowledge.
