CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF PRODUCTION AND SYSTEMS
SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING, UNIVERSITY OF MINHO
The Production and Systems Department of the School of Engineering at the University of Minho was a pioneer in the teaching of Industrial Engineering and Management in Portugal and is celebrating half a century of history this year!
To mark this milestone, the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Programme is officially launched, which will include a series of initiatives aimed at the academic community and our partners, including themed events, alumni meetings, initiatives with companies and international partners, the launch of a commemorative book and a series of interviews throughout the year.
This celebration is a moment to recognise the journey we have made, appreciate the present and make a strategic statement about the future.
The Committee to Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Production and Systems was formally appointed by the Head of Department, Professor Paulo Sampaio, through the issuance of Circular No. DPS-01/2026.
The Director of the Department of Production and Systems, Professor Paulo Sampaio, invites the academic community, all alumni, and institutional and corporate partners to join in this commemorative series and take part in the various initiatives planned:
